Update 2
After a false start on Tuesday I checked this morning and it looks like the servers are down for the new update.

Strike against Dannenglor
I did the Strike against Dannenglor skirmish last night as I'd heard this solo skirmish gave the best skirmish marks rewards. For a level 65, Tier 1, solo skirmish I got:
1 Adlan Campaign Mark
2 Naillan Campaign Marks
262 Skirmish Marks
This compares to 242 Marks from the last skirmish so Strike against Dannenglor has provided more Marks but not a great deal more.

Bye Bye Barad Guldur
Thursdays is a raid night in my kinship, the Western Alliance. We did possibly the last Durchest and the Twins Hardmode run as hopefully the new raid will be with us this time next week. I can’t see a group of 12 people wanted to return to this raid for a long time.
I personally have enjoyed the Barad Guldur raid although many people haven’t. The long trash clearing put a lot of people off. Some of the trash mobs were challenging like the mistress and warg pulls but some were just annoying like the lights in phase three. They should have replaced these with Mistresses or something less annoying. I regret not having figured out properly the tanking mechanic on Durchest as we always seem to get him fixated on the wrong player initially even though we know how it is meant to work.
I managed to kill the Lieutenant in Hardmode so I am partially satisfied that I have fully experienced this raid but I never managed to get the full set of armour which is a disappointment. At least that might encourage some players to return to the raid a little sooner to finish their armour sets.
My kinship has a raid on Monday to the Lieutenant but I doubt I will get into that raid as it is likely to be heavily over subscribed. So for now it is likely to be bye bye Barad Guldur

Assault on the Ringwraiths Liar Skirmish
A rather busy night last night. I started on my rune keeper alt then on to a skirmish, ettenmoors, the watcher and finally the turtle before bed.
Recently I’ve been banking skirmish marks in anticipation that they will be needed in abundance after update 2 goes live. They are pretty useful now for a variety of things.
Anyway I choose to do Assault on the Ringwraiths liar for no other reason than I haven’t done this one for a long time.
My level 65 Guardian has a level 66 Warrior as his companion which I have found to be an excellent combination. Strange that a pseudo-Champion and a Guardian would strike up a great working relationship but in solo skirmishes I find it works well for me. I’ve tried some of the other skirmishers, mainly healing types but the dps is just too low. With me in Overpower and my champ at the mobs back I find everything goes down quick enough for healing not to be an issue.
I was aiming to level my warrior right up to 70 but it got far too expensive in terms of skirmish marks beyond level 65/66. Anyway at level 66 she is pretty formidable and can usually handle trash mobs on her own.
Her set up is:
5535 Morale
682 Power
Skills
Ultimate Bloodseeker Level 66
Quick Sweep Level 66
Forceful Strike Level 66
Strong Sweep Level 66
Training
Sharpened Blades Level 65
Medium Armour Level 65
Boundless Morale Level 65
Parry Training Level 65
Personal
Armoured Assault Level 66
Battle Master Level 65
Lead the Way Level 65
A pretty smooth Level 65, solo, tier 1 run through the skirmish including both encounters but I was disappointed with the rewards for this particular skirmish:
2 Cannuilan Campaign Marks
1 Third Mark
242 Skirmish Marks

Hello There
Hello,
This is the start of a blog by Jackdir an elf guardian on the Laurelin European server of the Lord of the Rings Online game.
With the new Update 2 coming shortly it is my intention to document the adventures of myself as I pass through game content. Hopefully other players may find it entertaining or even useful as a resource.
